Catkin Flowers - Seasonal Wedding Flowers
Rachel Petheram of Catkin Flowers specialises in creating beautiful, naturally styled wedding flowers using entirely British grown seasonal materials.
The seed of Catkin was germinated when Rachel decided to grow flowers for her own wedding in 2002 and her business has blossomed ever since!
The vast majority of flowers used by Catkin are grown by Rachel in a walled kitchen garden in Lincolnshire, or sourced from other English growers. This means that flowers can be grown to order for weddings and that couples can actually see their flowers in the garden throughout the growing season.
There are few florists who grow their own flowers and clearly it is important at Catkin that the business is run in a sustainable way. Using sustainable, eco-friendly flowers means never having to compromise on style and gorgeousness.
Rachel’s ability to understand her client’s wishes and to help them realise their vision underpins Catkin’s success and her enthusiasm, personality and passion for what she does is clearly apparent to everyone who works with her.
This quote from a client sums up the Catkin ethos: “Rachel understood the vision I was trying to create for my wedding from the very first meeting and offered boundless creativity and enthusiasm as well as good value for money. Her style is very contemporary and of the standard you would expect to find in London rather than Lincolnshire.”
Her passion for sustainably grown flowers and her talent for producing gorgeous floral arrangements have earned Rachel a place in the Independent Newspaper’s list of top 50 florists and her lovely wedding flowers were featured on the BBC2 gardening series ' Great British Garden Revival' in 2014.
