Julie Dutton - Hand Made Bespoke Bridalwear
Julie Dutton’s unique dresses are a response to each individual bride’s requirements.
In her home studio, based in Kenilworth, Warwickshire in the West Midlands, Julie has an extensive collection of bridal fabrics and also offers an ever growing range of organic and ethical fabrics. The studio is full of interesting laces and heirloom textiles and you can view work in progress at your three to four fittings while your wedding gown's development progresses.
The design elements of Julie's custom-made dresses can be inspired by anything like vintage themes, film or historical costume but her main aim is to create a contemporary gown which fits the bride perfectly and reflects her personal style. Hand embellishment and/or beading can add that extra bit of magic.
At the first free consultation Julie will listen to your ideas and requirements. Following this she with draught a proposal and draw a sketch where required. A bespoke dress can take up to six months to complete. Each dress requires a toile which is a prototype of your design which helps refine the style and fit. There are usually three to four fittings. Brides can confirm their commission up to a year in advance.
Prices start from £1,100 with a deposit of £100
Julie’s clients say:
"Thank you so much for making my beautiful wedding dress. So many people have commented on the lace arms and how unusual it was, I felt lovely in it! I’m so pleased I found you. Thanks for all your hard work."
"Just a quick note to thank you again for creating such a beautiful bolero to match my wedding dress, which made the outfit extra special. Alterations to my and my sister's dress were perfect too. Many compliments were made on the day.”
