Method of Production: Produced in a small production company made in the UK
Fabrics: I use Peace Silk in some of my bridal designs which is sourced from an ethical producer in the UK. The silkworms are fed on an organic diet, without hormone enhancement and the worms are allowed a full life cycle. I also line my dresses in organic (GOTS certified) cotton or bamboo, which has a lovely soft feel and it is super comfortable against the skin.
Eco/Ethical Ethos: I am an advocate for slow fashion, and so therefore I try to reduce my textile carbon footprint in both my personal and working life. I am dedicated to upholding a positive impact; I buy clothes that last; I repair a lot too, mending ripped jeans, and sewing holes in jumpers. Fabric choices are important to me so I try to avoid polyester as much as possible and I buy the occasional piece made from organic cotton or Tencel. I am not much of a shopper anyway as I find it so overwhelming when there are rails and rails of clothes. The independent shops are where you will find me browsing and all this resonates with my brand.
Sustainable and ethical practices are at the heart of my work. I produce minimal quantities and focus on the quality of the dresses. I hand paint my bridal collection on paper and I support the look with fabrics samples. My bridal collection is small, supporting slow fashion and the idea that less is more.
