Set in the beautiful and truly romantic surroundings of St Margaret’s Bay on the South East coast of Kent, Pines Calyx is an eco-friendly wedding venue offering a bright and contemporary feel for your wedding. 

If you are looking to make your wedding as sustainable or green as possible, or wishing simply to capture its sparkling beauty and tranquillity, Pines Calyx with its modern design is a simply breath-taking choice set in six acres of landscaped gardens with stunning sea views. In September 2012 the Pines Calyx became a ‘carbon negative’ and ‘energy positive’ building – with the lowest carbon footprint of any venue in Europe. We are also working towards ISO20121 – the new International Standard in Sustainable Event Management. We are proud to be one of the early adopters of the standard as it gains more important to the UK event industry.

For your ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception you have exclusive use of this entire unique wedding venue as well as the adjoining terrace with access to the Pines Garden for those all-important photos. A beautiful and private setting for you and your guests to enjoy throughout the day and a blank canvas in which to style your theme, be it natural, vintage, seasonal or eco-chic.

We are fully licensed for civil weddings, partnerships and the renewal of vows. Your ceremony will be held in the Lower Roundel, this circular room on the ground floor is suitable for up to 80 guests. The bright, airy space has fantastic acoustics and panoramic views across the surrounding gardens towards the sea.

The Upper Roundel is a lovely circular room, set on the first floor seating up to 80 guests for a wedding breakfast. This room affords yet more views across the garden and with doors opening onto the adjoining private terrace, the perfect place to hold a drinks reception.  

For the evening reception we can cater to around 120 guests using the whole venue, dancing takes place in the Lower Roundel leaving the Upper Roundel and terrace for those who wish to relax, chat and enjoy the views.

Our varied and delicious menus, which includes a special Kentish afternoon tea, use fresh local produce from award winning suppliers (and as much as possible from our own garden!). We have two authentic wood ovens and we have a special wood oven menu which is great for a lovely relaxed dining experience! We also offer the opportunity to utilize professional outside caterers. 

A wide choice Reception drinks range from proper homemade lemonade (yes..made on site ) to Mojitos and classic Pimms. Wine for the table and toast have been specially chosen to offer as much flexibility as possible, we also offer a corkage option to couples and have a fully staffed bar.
