SUPPLIER FOCUS: Vinatis Papers - Uniquely Hand Made Wedding Stationary

I’m so very delighted to warmly welcome Vinati’s Paper back to Green Union’s wedding directory!

When Vinati’s Paper left us a couple of years ago for personal reasons I was very sad to see the company go.  Why?  Because the founder, Vinati Gupta de Souza, is such an ecophile (is that a real word?). She promotes exquisitely designed recycled and handmade paper-based wedding stationery, at affordable prices.

Vinati's Paper is a committed socially conscious enterprise.

The paper Vinati uses for her stationary is hand made in small batches in Indian villages using recycled waste materials such as cotton rags and waste paper. Some papers are also made from other natural fibres like jute, straw, banana, husk, flower petals, silk and wool, in fact anything fibrous that can be recycled!  The fibres give the papers fabulous textures and natural embellishments that make them wonderfully unique.

The patterns on the papers are achieved using the traditional tecnique of hand silk screen printing. A dying art because of the growing mechination of paper printing, using hand silk screen printers means that Vinati is helping to retain and encourage the these skills within the communities that still use them.

The final embellishments will often be done by hand painting specially formulated gold and silver inks over the screen printed patterns.  Ornate and stunning!

Vinati offers a totally bespoke service where everything is designed and made to your needs and within your wedding budget.

What’s not to love!

Bespoke, unique, hand made, recycled, fairly traded and sustainable, encouraging traditional skills and empowering local communities in India.  Get in touch with Vinati’s Paper and see what they can do for your own wedding stationary.

Vinati’s Paper is a handpicked wedding stationary supplier loved by Green Union and listed in our Wedding Directory.
