EVENT: Wedding tent open season is with us again!Tweet
The open season for tent companies to showcase their marvellous structures is upon us and I think open days are a great way to gather information for your wedding. I may even go so far as to say that open days and weekends are a better source of targeted, local information than those ubiquitous wedding fairs. GU HQ has a raft of events for you to choose from over the coming weeks and I’ll be posting them here as they come up.
First up are giant wedding tipi providers, World Inspired Tents, who are not only returning to their regular pitch at Darts Farm near Topsham in Devon for their Spring Open Weekend on 21st and 22nd March, but also pitching their tents a bit further afield at Burford Garden Company in the Cotswolds on 18th and 19th April.
The Darts Farm Open Weekend will see the tipis styled for by some lovely West Country wedding suppliers including Inspire Hire, South West Event Hire, West Dorset Wedding Flowers by the Poundbury Florist, Devon Vintage China, Meadowsweet Vintage, Oyster and Pearl Design and Silverdeer, with Dartmoor Kitchen and photographer Sarah Lauren also in attendance to showcase their services.
While over at Burford the tents will be looking splendid having been styled with the help of Kate Cullen, Acacia Floristry, Dotty Pink Designs, Made by Marie and Whitehouse Crockery, while James Darling Photography and Parsnip Mash will be showcasing their services.
Being at the leading edge of tipi weddings, we asked Layla at World Inspired Tents to give us some tips on styling trends for 2015 and here’s what she had to say:
“For 2015 we’re seeing the trend for relaxed dining on long wooden tables continuing. Many couples are opting for runners and informally styled centrepieces, with seasonal locally grown blooms carried through from tables and tipi poles into bouquets and hair.
Other styles that are we are seeing interpreted beautifully for tipi weddings are the use of geometric patterns and ‘rustic-luxe’ themes with sequins and sparkles a-plenty, both of which work super well with our tipis as a backdrop!
In terms of colour schemes we’re seeing lots of blues, greys and yellows coming through this year, and teal or aqua with copper tones.”
Anyone planning a wedding or event is invited to visit the tipis and meet the World Inspired Tents team during their Open Weekends. Appointments are available for those who wish to secure some dedicated time with an Event Coordinator, or couples are welcome to drop in for a look or an informal chat.
What's more, there will be goody bags filled with treats, samples and offers for anyone who books an appointment with the events team!
