Creative Humanist wedding

Photographer Emma Stoner recently sent us some lovely images she took for the marriage of Tess Berry-Hart to David Mercatali at Barrington Court Farmhouse, David's uncle's home in Somerset.

Tess and David chose this spot as it's their favourite place and a regular getaway from their busy theatre careers in London. The happy couple were joined by their closest friends and family for the wedding ceremony which was held on a grassy mound of trees and colourful flowers.

They had a beautiful outdoor Humanist service for their marriage which included the planting of a tree as a symbol of their love for each other.

The wedding reception took place in a marquee on the grounds of the farmhouse and Instead of a toast of champagne they went for the Somerset version, a locally produced bubbly cider. Tess and David sourced as much local produce for the food they served at the reception which included a free range, RSPCA approved hog roast from Kenniford Farms in Devon.

Tess's brothers provided the musical entertainment for the day with Simon and Garfunkel and the Beatles played on guitar and piano. After dinner the guests milled around the grounds, sipping wine in the fields and enjoying the late afternoon sun and later Tess sung 'Let it Be' with her brothers as they warmed up for the first dance.
