Leading sustainable bridal brand and recent winners of the Editor’s Choice Award 2020 at the prestigious Bridal Buyer Awards, Sanyukta Shrestha, is launching a capsule collection of timeless and luxurious ready-to-wear pieces that are sustainably made from local artisans in Nepal and are exclusively available from today at www.sanyuktashrestha.com. The brand has announced that 10% of its profits will support their ongoing Covid-19 effort to help vulnerable homeless people while the collection aims to regenerate many lost livelihoods for women artisans, creating a positive impact on the environmental chain.

Leading the sustainable movement since 2011, Sanyukta Shrestha has introduced the concept of conscious eco-friendly design long before it was a buzzword and stands as a pioneer when it comes to luxury sustainable bridalwear and eveningwear. This capsule ready-to-wear collection is the next step in what a multi-award-winning designer Sanyukta Shrestha dreams to achieve, a signature brand devoted to kind designs that celebrate centuries-old traditional Nepalese craftsmanship and care for the planet that are available to discerning women globally:

“This collection is a celebration of the long-established conscious effort of our brand to design products that are kind to people and the planet, a selection of wardrobe staples that feel luxurious and are destined to be a forever piece in our closet. This launch is an extension of our signature Sanyukta Shrestha sustainable bridal collections that our brides have been longing for a long time.”

The desire to create a luxurious and all-time classic wardrobe that is made to last has been the focal point behind the birth of this collection. Staying true to the brand’s vision, this collection is handmade in Nepal and supports remote producers from a social enterprise that focuses on enhancing the livelihoods of rural women, who make up 90% of their weaving and spinning artisans. The launch of The Kind Collection comes as an answer to support artisans in Nepal who have no other means of earnings during the pandemic to regenerate income while working from home safely and fight the pandemic with dignity and hope.

The collection features 50 highly desirable designs of ready-to-wear tops, shirts, coats, skirts and trousers of refined tailoring and sophisticated allure. The timeless yet dramatic silhouettes were born out of the brand’s brides and followers requesting to have a bespoke piece that they can treasure forever but be able to style it every day, as a means of holding a memory of their special day in their everyday outfits. The beauty touch of Sanyukta’s ethical and kind fabrics to the skin has amazed thousands of brides since the inception of the brand. Although Sanyukta designed her first ready to wear collection before the COVID-19 pandemic, the release of the collection now is the designer’s solution to the future of fashion, an ode to timeless silhouettes and hope.

Priced between £250 and £1500, each and every design is handmade in Nepal using a zero-waste design policy and is made from sustainable fibres that are 100% ecologically certified with the Global Organic Textile Standard Certification, Fairtrade certified, and combined with natural, recycled, upcycled and biodegradable or bio-based textiles with fully vegan-friendly options. In addition to the green ethics behind the collection, the brand is also committed to eliminating single-use plastics, so the designs will arrive beautifully packaged in a brand's sustainable paper. There is also an optional hand-crafted box made out of 100% Lokta paper, created from the fibrous inner bark of high elevation evergreen shrubs (renewable resources); the fibre collection and paper manufacture create valuable employment in the hilly areas and continue to offer considerable economic sustainability for deprived rural Nepalese women.
