INSPIRATION - 'Until Eternity' in Thailand: A Beach Elopement at the Twinpalms Montazure Resort, Phuket, Captured by Madiow Photography

24th April 2020

I don't know about you, but after weeks spent mostly on the sofa, spending an eternity on an exotic beach sounds pretty much like heaven right now. As our world seems to shrink under lockdowns and uncertainty, travels anywhere, let alone to far-flung destinations, seems like distant memories of the and unrealistic expectations for the future. It will, of course, change in time, but for the time being, let's go on a visual journey to the beaches of the Twinpalms Montazure Resort in Phuket thanks to the very talented Madiow Photography and Chonlada Lafferty, director at The Bridal Planner Thailand, who kindly submitted them.

The pieces are from their latest Oeuf d’Enchantement collection, which features elegant diamond drop earrings and a sophisticated black onyx ring and bracelet.

The model’s hair and makeup were carefully styled by Neil Donkin, a Phuket-based makeup artist and hairstylist.

Environmental concern also extends to local tourist attractions, and they have an anti-animal exploitation policy in place, so guests are only encouraged to visit sustainable sanctuaries where wildlife is not used for selfies, rides or entertainment. The resort has also received the award for Best Mixed-Use Development and for Sustainable Development at the Thailand Property Awards 2017.

Bamboo is well-known to be a very sustainable crop as it requires minimal water, needs no fertiliser, is very fast-growing and generates a very low carbon footprint. It was a long process of trial and errors, but they finally constructed a spectacular bamboo arch in many layers. This arch is light and can be reused with different flower arrangements; this time, they chose to decorate it with reusable flowers and dried pampas and accented with local ceramic vases.

Chonlada incorporated the Glowing Purple in this shoot in both the ceremony flowers and in one of the 'his & hers' cocktails called Ocean Glow, with another cocktail called Andaman Coral, representing the dead coral.

Tied to the napkins are bamboo straws from Zero Waste Phuket, and down the centre of the table is a runner made of textile waste from garment factory overstocked fabric from Moorloop, who also supplied the ribbon used for the bouquet and buttonhole.

Few places can boast such as romantic view to gaze into the future of your new married life together as this one!
