INSPIRATION - An Intimate Woodland Picnic Wedding by Masha Unwerth Photography
4th October 2019
As a photographer and someone who loves session styling, I chose to capture these inspiring images and also planned and designed each of the shoot detail I had in mind. For this bridal shoot in Virginia Water I mainly drew my inspiration from wood natural shades where colours harmonize in unison in the natural palette creating a sense of comfort and warmth. I also felt the colour theme combined with each other, which we also accented with pure white and golds, created a romantic wedding vibe that would not only be perfect to the decor of modern bohemian (bridal) picnic scene but would equally work for any time of year. I chose to shoot in Virginia Water Lake which provided the perfect woodland scene backdrop for bridal portraiture. The floral centrepiece and bouquet by Lily and Myrtle were a wild mix of seasonal flowers, foraged greenery and soft grasses in a palette matching the colour brief with a pop of white and light mauve. Emily, our bride, wore an exquisite A-line silhouette dress by Helena Fortley, embroidered with delicate blooms and wrapped at the waist with a pair of velvet ribbons, everyone thought the ballgown is pure summer wedding day fashion goal! Our wonderful bride had her hair in light braided updo and ending with an amazing creative piece by uber talented Nadia Webber, and the make-up artist Penelope Bailey made Emily portrait ready.
Rumeet Tudor also sent us the stylish handmade paper stationery (written wows), Rumeet's choice of background tone picked up perfectly on the floral centrepiece and overall wood inspired colours. Gordana Stillingfeet (Just Because Cakes) was also looking to showcase her pretty wedding mini cakes, made to reflect the wooden scene and laid out complimenting the intimate picnic affair.
