INSPIRATION - A 'Berry Eco' Wedding Shoot at The Cherry Barn, Kent, with Concept by Eco Stationer, Letters from Emily, Captured by Katie Rogers Photography

9th September 2019

Real flower petal confetti for a boho brideI can't resist a good pun, so when this 'Berry Eco' styled shoot landed in my inbox from Letters from Emily, how coud I resist?! Not only is it beautifully and accessibly styled, it features a host of talented eco wedding vendors, including not just one, but two GREEN UNION partners, Indiebride London and Eco Wood Rings!

Emily, of Letters from Emily, explains:

"The inspiration for the shoot came about when I was sourcing seeded paper for my new stationery collection. I wanted to incorporate elements of sustainability and eco-friendly suppliers, from plant dyed bamboo silk ribbons to ethical vegan shoes, demonstrating that an eco wedding can also be romantic, pretty and bright. Warm, rich and berry colours used through the tableware, paper flowers, ribbons and stationery, with the beautiful Cherry Barn in Rye as the backdrop, ties the whole shoot together."

The Cherry Barn, Eco Wedding Venue, Kent UK"IndieBride has an emphasis on sourcing sustainable fabrics and organic silk and they recycle all of their fabrics so no wastage. The Charley dress with vintage and boho inspired features was a perfect mix of elegant lace with an empire cut but with a natural flowing style and beautiful low back."

Eco wedding dress from Indiebride London"The bride's look was finished off with a natural look but with a rich berry hue for the lips by Natasha Valerie Make up and a soft but elegant up do from Amie Adell Hair."

Romantic boho hair and make up"The rich and bright palette of Petal & Bird’s paper flowers, which were used for the bouquet and hair decoration, included bold pink peonies complimented the stationery and gorgeous plant-based dyed bamboo silk ribbons and natural dyed table runner perfectly. The textured paper flowers accentuated the tablescape, with props and tableware supplied by Styled by Sissy, a local prop hire company who have an absolute treasure trove of delights and decorations."

Eco bamboo silk hand dyed ribbonsEco Wedding Reception Table Styling"The wedding invitations were designed on seeded plantable paper which can be planted in the garden and grow a mix of meadow flowers. The table settings and seating chart were printed on 100% recycled card. The table place names doubled up as seed favours using fabric off cuts from a local dress maker to hold the seeds."

Eco Seeded Recycled Paper Wedding Invitations and Stationery"Other ethical suppliers including eco wood wedding rings, vegan bridal shoes and the perfect match of colourful petal confetti tied the whole shoot together."

Vegan wedding cake by Cakes and LeavesDina from Cakes and Leave tells us more: "I only use healthy, natural plant based powders to achieve the most beautiful colours - like this lovely pale green and pink that matched your stationery. This particular cake was coloured with matcha green tea, dried raspberry and beetroot powder. No artificial ingredients were used in the cake - only natural and preferably local, organic ones from sustainable sources wherever possible".
