INSPIRATIONAL EDITORIAL - A Magical Springtime Woodland Styled Shoot, Captured By Heline Bekker Photography

3rd April 2019

Spring Bluebell Wedding Inspiration by Heline Bekker Photography on www.greenunion.co.uk The Dreys is set in a private woodland estate in the Kent downs area of outstanding natural beauty, completely secluded in the centre of the privately owned 80 acres of ancient woodland. They are just 40 minutes from central London, complete with camping facilities. They are licensed for legal ceremonies within the field shelter and woodland blessings deep amongst the trees and wildflowers. It’s a magical place and we were thrilled to create this look there.

Spring Bluebell Wedding Buttonhole Inspiration by Heline Bekker Photography on www.greenunion.co.uk The flowers were Springtime classics, mixed with some woodland foliage, to create a look which complemented but the season and the beautiful location. Using a palette which consisted predominantly of whites and greens, just a touch of blue was added to echo the bluebells which where carpeting the woodland floor. The bouquet was informally-structured with varied tones and textures. The table flowers were place in small groupings in mixed glass bottles, set upon wood slices to vary the heights further and add interest to the tablescape.

The 3 tier cake includes 2 tiers of white lace icing and a tier of pale blue decorated with soft pink blossom and perfectly finished with a raffia bow. Two further cakes were decorated in buttercream icing, which is becoming an increasingly popular choice for weddings cakes.  These were decorated with both sugar blossom and also fresh blossom.

In keeping with the delicate nature of the gown, the hair and make-up were both kept youthful and subtle.

These were mixed with tiny Swarovski crystals and pearls to add a gentle sparkle. The use of flexible silver wire enabled the vine to be weaved through the hair, and a few simple matching hairpins were added to give a bit more detail at the back of the hair. In all, an apparently understated, but effortlessly romantic ensemble, with exquisite attention to detail.

My thanks to Heline and the team for sharing this Spring inspiration with GREEN UNION.
