9th December 2016

Let me introduce you to the lovely Bea, of Botanika

She creates the most beautiful natural wedding flowers which constantly reflect the seasons and are packed full of local and British grown flowers and foliage, topped up with foraged wild ingredients.

I love it that she is passionate about using local suppliers, not only for her flowers but also the other essential floral accessories like the natural hand dyed silk ribbons that have become most popular for finishing off her stunning wedding bouquets.

What, you ask, are natural wedding flowers?

Natural wedding flowers, in my opinion, are supplied by artisan flower farmers and gardeners who grow seasonal blooms. The wedding flowers are designed and arranged by floral designers in an organic way, emphasising and mimicking the natural abundance of the growing plants. Beautiful natural wedding flowers that appear to be arranged with a just picked look.

And Bea embraces this ethos wholeheartedly, especially enjoying working on weddings which have a natural, relaxed feel, where her work can really complement the couples individual, low-key glamour.

Naturally grown seasonal British flowers are the bedrock of Bea’s work

Since the seasons dictate what Bea can use, you will find scented blooms like Scilly Island narcissi and winter flowering shrubs with hellebores and tulips in the winter and spring, while summer brings the overblown beauty of peonies, English scented roses and sweet peas, with old fashioned dahlias in the late summer and autumn.  Bea supplements these flowers with her own home grown heirloom blooms and foraged foliage adding unique colour, texture and movement to creations that give her work a very personal edge.

Heirloom varieties of flowers help to make Bea’s work unusual and natural

The ever changing nature of Bea’s work reflects the variety and freshness of her natural materials and the changing of the seasons.

And by the way, Bea has been listed by the Daily Telegraph as one of the top 20 most creative florists in Britain. What an accolade for an emerging small business!  You’ve got to love her …
