WEDDING DAY INSPIRATION - Make Your Own DIY Natural Leaf Confetti
18th November 2015
Are you throwing an autumn wedding? Do you want confetti that doesn’t hurt the environment? Can you only find natural flower petal confetti in summer colours that doesn’t really work with your theme?
If the answer to those 3 questions is YES! then read on to find out how you can make your own biodegradable, totally natural wedding confetti that won’t cost a penny!
It’s a blustery windy autumn day and the leaves are blowing off the trees in their droves, concentrating my mind on what to do with all those lovely colourful leaves once the storm has blown itself out. Then I remembered Teresa at Wildflower Favours had sent us images and how-to’s for recycling those very same leaves.
Once the storm’s blown over, pull on your wellies, scarf and coat, call the dog and head out for a lovely long walk in the countryside or to your local park armed with a deep basket. The wind will have blown all the leaves into swirly mounds under bushes and walls. Find a deep, colourful pile and and dig in, they’re a gift from nature!
Back home by the cosy warmth of the fire, select your leafy autumn colours and your cutting implements!
Teresa has used some small hand punches which you can find in craft stores.
Then it is simply a case of cutting out the shapes to your heart’s content to create this beautiful DIY natural leaf confetti!
For a perfect finishing touch, make cones from recycled paper to hold the leafy confetti, or you could buy some tree-free lokta paper confetti cones from Wildflower Favours.
Pour your confetti into these pretty eco-friendly confetti cones and hand them to your wedding guests on the day!
What an inspired idea - great looking eco-friendly, biodegradable, natural wedding confetti in fantastic natural autumn colours, all for FREE!
