EVENT: Celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight with The Heartfelt Project

23rd February 2015

Fairtrade Fortnight started today so, to celebrate here at GU HQ over the next two weeks, I’m featuring some of GU’s handpicked partners who make it their business to go that extra mile to support the fairtrade movement, even if they are not actually registered with the Fairtrade Foundation itself.

Today I want to tell you about a perfectly formed little company, The Heartfelt Project.  Established by  the lovely Julie Hadley, they have a special place in GU’s heart both because they are South African (I have African roots) and because they are empowering South African women with their job creation project, and believe me they need all the help and encouragement that we can give them - it’s a wonderful project!

Their unique little wedding favours are beautifully hand-sewn using felt, beads and ribbon, by a group of women in Makapanstad and carry a message of hope by contributing to an HIV/AIDS & TB charity within the local community as well as helping to feed and clothe the Heartfelt ladies and their families.

From wedding favours to fridge magnets and key rings to buttonholes, each little gift is ethically made and filled with lots of love. So if you’re looking for a little something that is truly felt from the heart – these are the perfect wedding gifts for friends and family to ensure that you spread a lot of love around, on your special day.
