INSPIRATIONAL EDITORIAL - An Autumnal Woodland Elopement Wedding Where Three Become One

26th November 2021

INSPIRATIONAL EDITORIAL - An Autumnal Woodland Elopement Wedding Where Three Become OneElopements are one of the most eco-conscious wedding options, and they afford the very best opportunity to capture every moment of there being just the two (or three!) of you on your most special day (so far!).

The Concept

Megan explains:

“I'm a UK-based wedding photographer, and I wanted to create an eco-friendly and sustainably based boho woodland elopement showcasing the beauty of autumn and the intimacy of an elopement.

I take a lot of inspiration from nature and the natural world, and I love creating fun immersive experiences on both wedding days and engagement shoots. One of my favourite times to photograph in is autumn, as the colours are beautifully warm and ever-changing. That is where the inspiration came from for this shoot. The styling was based on a whimsical boho look and tied the whole theme together.”

The Bride & Groom

“The dress in the shoot is our gorgeous Lucinda dress made of soft Scottish cotton lace Madras and lined with Italian FSC viscose satin. It's handmade in England. The lace is embroidered with birds, and the style of the dress has a bohemian romantic and feminine feel to it. The elastic running on the waist and under the bust at the front of the dress makes it very comfortable to wear. This also makes it perfect for pregnant brides as the higher front waistline and the skirt's volume allows room for a growing bump.”

Michelle Morris styled Hilary’s hair and makeup:

“The makeup look that I created on Hillary was soft and natural, emphasising the eyes. I chose to use golden tones that complemented the autumnal browns and oranges captured in the forest setting. I kept her skin natural and created a ‘barely there’ base before adding a warm blusher to her cheeks. I used some individual lashes to frame her eyes and a soft nude lip to complete the look.”

Arie and Vine provided the dried florals:

“I was inspired by autumn, a sustainable bracken and twine base for the flower crown featuring eucalyptus & gypsophila to create a beautiful autumnal contrast. The bouquet, mainly foraged, is again inspired by all the goodness that autumn brings. The season is Arie & Vine’s favourite time of year for foraging; the colours, texture, everything is truly inspiring!”

Hilary's bridal look was topped off with gold leaf earrings from Muted Luxe.

“They are printed on handmade paper, which is made from the offcuts of cotton t-shirts. The process doesn't involve cutting down any trees as there's no wood pulp involved, which means there is no negative impact on the forests.”

Sweet Treats

INSPIRATIONAL EDITORIAL - An Autumnal Woodland Elopement Wedding Where Three Become OneINSPIRATIONAL EDITORIAL - An Autumnal Woodland Elopement Wedding Where Three Become OneINSPIRATIONAL EDITORIAL - An Autumnal Woodland Elopement Wedding Where Three Become OneCocoa Island is an artisanal chocolatier from Surrey:

“We launched our wedding services around a year ago, focusing on couples looking to save some money after the hard times of covid and lockdowns but still wanted a touch of luxury. We created our chocolate truffle tower that doubles as a wedding cake alternative and guests' wedding favours! The rest of the range was born from there. We are fully sustainable from sourcing our cocoa in the Ivory Coast, where we support local farmers (and contribute to the building of schools to keep children in education and prevent child labour) to the production and packaging of our products, which is all recyclable and made from recycled materials. On top of that....our chocolates are delicious (if we do say so ourselves!).”
