INSPIRATIONAL EDITORIAL - Rustic Boho Ideas From 504 - Events, Captured By Laura Skye At Lillibrooke Manor, BerkshireWedding planner Gabriela of 504 - Events created the concept based on a fictitious engaged couple, Charlie & Ivana. Their vision was a blend of rustic, bohemian, and British countryside:

"As their planner, I would incorporate the couple’s rustic and bohemian style through the use of various elements of lighting, floral decor, and design. With every wedding, I prioritise the story that my clients wish to tell and assemble the best team of professionals to assist me.”

True to her word, Gabriela brought together a talented team; I’ll let her take you through the design of the two setups they created…

The Outdoor Ceremony Setting

I pictured the bride walking down an aisle lined by pampas grass effortlessly swaying in the wind while the groom would be waiting for her under a floral adorned wooden wedding arch. Silk florist Fleur de la Couture designed the decoration of the floral arch, the bouquet, the buttonhole, and the aisle flowers. To fit with the boho theme, they mixed faux and dried stems and used a classic green and white colour scheme. Silk flowers are a useful alternative to fresh flowers and offer a surprisingly sustainable approach. The stems and designs last for years and can be re-used, which means Fleur de la Couture's designs can be hired, and for a cheaper price than single-use fresh flowers. They hate to see real flowers going to waste after just one day!

The bride selected her dress from the Evie Young Bridal Collection featured by Tala Daniel Bridal Boutique, which perfectly blends an elegant yet country-chic look and showcases a detailed pattern of ivory lace over a latte, dusty pastel pink. Her look was completed by a subtle makeup look by Andra that accentuated her natural facial features, pairing it with a hairstyle by Timea that boasts her natural curls.

The groom opted for a minimalist look tailored by Harry Brown: a black coloured suit with an unbuttoned white shirt and a buttonhole featuring bleached ruscus and piumetta grass.

The Barn Reception Space

The flexibility of their designs is mirrored in their flexibility of printing solutions, with letterpress, die-cutting, foils, and many more options available, they also offer more eco-friendly options such as seed paper and recycled card. Skilful suppliers are sourced in order to deliver products at top quality and all orders are assembled and finished by hand.

The decor was inspired by the bride’s favourite flowers, cabbage roses, and the groom’s preference for earthy tones. The contrast created by the structured wooden beams and elegant decor brought elements of rustic and bohemian flare. With Bernadetta’s help, all of these elements came together in the creation of an enhanced barn with accents of gold found in the name cards, candelabras, and tableware.

Through visual storytelling, the photographer, Laura Skye, succeeded in narrating the couple’s intimate wedding via a series of frames through which she was able to capture the essence of their romance and the whimsical setting of the barn.

The Film

To memorialise this event, videographer Mark Brooks put together a short film that captures the collection of elements that went into fulfilling the couple’s vision of their bohemian countryside wedding.
