This romantic bridal editorial, expertly planned by Righe e Pois Natural Weddings and beautifully captured by Gloria Soverini, features gorgeous handmade bridal gowns by Miranda Di Sipio. Shot in the Florentine designer's own studio, the team took their inspiration from Marcel Proust’s 'La Recherche', the shoot is a celebration of Spring, with its gifts of love and youthfulness.
All is set in a very intimate time and place, where secrets are exchanged between the complicity of smiles and sweet looks. The space was filled with flowers by talented florist, Sartoria Floreale; styled blooms explode in joy, like an arc stretched in an embrace.
'They had gathered close around me, and between their faces which were almost touching one another the air that separated them traced azure pathways such as might have been cut by a gardener wishing to clear the ground a little so as to be able himself to move freely through a thicket of roses.'
Flowers even feature on the English pottery laid perfectly on the table. The floral detailing extends to the Bundt cake which is surrounded by soft roses and pale blue delphinium. On gold-edged plates are placed the famous Madeleines, the soft shell-shaped treats that feature in another of Proust’s masterpieces, 'In Search of Lost Time'. The names of Albertine, Andrée, Gisele and Rosemonde (taken from the same book), are written beautifully in calligraphy on cotton paper placeholders by the Pink Ink Studio (who supplied a gorgeous suite of accompanying stationery) and are kept in place by elegant metal wires roses by Fili di Poesia.
'I gazed at Albertine’s cheeks as she spoke, and asked myself what might be the perfume, the taste of them:
this time they were not cool, but glowed with a uniform pink, violet-tinted, creamy, like certain roses whose petals have a waxy gloss. I felt a passionate longing for them such as one feels sometimes for a particular flower.'
Floral embellishments are Miranda Di Sipio's signature touch. The light and bright hues of the pictures return perfectly the sense of freshness, liveliness and the spontaneity of the moment. Makeup artist and hairstylist, Maura Martinelli, complemented the gowns with fresh, glowing skin, delicate accenting and unstructured locks.
'I was in love with none of them, loving them all, and yet the possibility of meeting them was in my daily life the sole element of delight, alone made to burgeon in me those high hopes by which every obstacle is surmounted.'
