City of Lights

truro.jpgIf you're in Cornwall today, get yourself along to Truro where they're holding their annual community lantern festival called City of Lights.

The annual community and visual arts spectacle that is the City of Lights takes place tonight, wending its way through the streets of Truro, bringing together people, ideas and light under the theme of The Frozen World.

Join the city for a night of magical lights at 6.30pm when the parade will wend its way through Castle Street, River Street, St Nicholas Street, Boscawen Street, Green Street and Lemon Quay. Its estimated that more than 15,000 people from all over Cornwall and the UK will flock to the cathedral city to join the festivities!

trurocol.jpgThe City of Lights is a uniquely collaborative event working with schools, community groups, businesses, Truro City Council, police, visual artists, digital artists, bands and dancers to celebrate their pride in their city. Artists have worked in schools to create spectacular, larger-than-life lanterns that will form the basis of the vivid procession of light, music and dance through the city streets.

Full of spectacular paper lantern sculptures, the festival will give you some amazing ideas for creating a magical wedding theme.
