Wedding Gowns that Reflect your Inner Beauty
Linda Thomas Eco Design is based in a studio in Bristol, in the South West of England. I won young designer of Nottingham several decades ago and then promptly went on to study Medicine! I now combine my passion for People and Planet by sharing my professional life between designing and healing work.
My work reflects my beliefs and I only make ethical clothing
What could be a limitation of using upcycled fabrics is actually an inspiration for me and I often come up with more creative ideas by having to use only the materials that are available. I make each wedding dress or outfit individually by reworking beautiful materials such as silk, cashmere, merino and linen and hand felting features such as collars or trains.
For bespoke wedding gowns and outfits, the design process involves me making detailed measurements, discovering what you feel fabulous in, and then starting a creative journey together. I have a passion for colour, shape and originality.
My joy is in creating clothes that let you see how beautiful you are
I enjoy working around your unique requirements, whether body shape, size, or adaptations post-surgery or for a disability.
Alex, Bride: “I always wanted a Wedding Dress that represented my personality and I was struggling to find this until I was recommended Linda Thomas Eco Design. I wanted to incorporate colour and fun. Linda is all of these things and more! We had a brilliant time together creating and designing the dress. The design of the dress seemed to grow organically as we got to know each other. Linda is an amazing designer and great fun to work with. She has helped me find a dress which I will cherish forever.”
Sue, Mum of the Bride: “It was so special to see my daughter’s face light up when she tried on her wedding dress which she and Linda were creating. I had no idea what I was going to wear at my daughter’s wedding except that it was not going to be a typical ‘mother of the bride’ outfit! Linda realised I was struggling to find something I liked and in spite of being incredibly busy, she suggested she could make me a dress. Then began an amazing journey with Linda, my daughter and myself all having input into the colour and design which has resulted in a perfect non traditional mother of the bride outfit….”
Miranda Krestovnikoff, Wildlife Presenter, Author and RSPB President: “Discovering Linda has been a revelation. She is able to totally transform a garment, to personalise it to me - my shape and my personality. Fittings were not just about measuring up, they were about finding out what I like to wear, what I feel most comfortable in and tailoring the garment to my exact preferences. The whole experience was really fun and I have had incredible feedback from the garments that I’ve worn, what’s more each one is unique and Linda’s approach is the best way of clothes recycling - re-using items that might be damaged or marked by up-styling them and not throwing them away. I love it! I will be back for more!”
