EVENT: Wedding tent open weekend up North ...Tweet
As the days start to get a little longer and the spring bulbs start to appear, Papakata's gorgeous teepees and Sperry tents will be springing up at their Open Weekend on 21 and 22 March 2015.
Nestled in the beautiful countryside at Escrick Park, near York, the Open Weekend is the perfect opportunity to step inside the teepees and Sperry tents and talk to the Papa team about the finer details of your wedding or event.
They’ll be showcasing a number of the latest wedding trends to give couples ideas and inspiration for their big day. I asked Rachael, one of the Papa Peeps, what trends they were detecting for 2015/16 and this is what she told us:
"We’re seeing an increase in the popularity of long tables for more relaxed wedding dining and we love this look in both our teepee and Sperry tents. But don’t think that long tables have to be rustic. Elegant, and often, sumptuous banqueting tables are huge on the American blogs right now and we’ll show how to achieve this look with the right styling and details.
Long tables allow more conversation, and help create a real sense of togetherness amongst wedding guests. This style also fits well with the trend for sharing platters and more family style dining where the guests will serve and pass round big dishes instead of individual plates. Our friends at Filmore & Union will be showing how wedding food can be seasonal, high quality and healthy with a vibrant array of canapés and unique dishes. Cocktail bars are big news for 2015, so we’ve invited Speakeasy Libations to shake up some inventive botanical cocktails. Come and sample the Gin Garden, made with gin, homemade berry tea syrup, apple juice, rose water and lemon – to die for!
Floral inspiration will be provided by the very talented Firenza Floral Design and Lucy Macnicoll Floral Design. 2015 sees the trend for flowers going up and hanging above tables. We’ve introduced hanging frames and wooden swings that can be dressed in so many different ways – from elaborate designs by florists, to simple blooms styled by creative DIY brides. In the Sperry, Lucy will be working with on-trend shades of blues and blush, and designing some incredible statement floral chandeliers. Fiona will bring botanical styling to life in the teepees, with vibrant greens, handpicked herbs and glass cloches.
Building on the botanical trend, the delightful Charming Press will be creating a new collection of wedding stationery featuring flowers, leaves and illustration - especially for our Open Weekend. Fine art wedding and life style photographer Melissa Beattie will capture the weekend details.
All our guests will receive a take home photo booth memento from Booth Revolution, together with a beautiful pink Papa planner to jot down the day’s inspiration."
Appointments are highly recommended. Available on both Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 4pm, to book, please call PapaKåta on 01904 707100.
