Warm welcome to Elmore Court

Today I’m super delighted to welcome the absolutely gorgeous, sustainable and eco friendly venue Elmore Court to Green Union’s wedding directory.

Elmore Court is the 750-year-old Grade II* listed home of the Guise family nestled in a beautiful rural village between the Cotswolds and Bristol. This ancient historical home with views of the River Severn has been renovated into a self-sustainable state-of-the-art wedding reception and event venue which includes a biomass heating system and naturally built rammed earth ‘super marquee’, the ‘Gillyflower’.

With a combined 35 years of experience in the music and events industry - particularly festivals - the current owners of Elmore Court, Anselm & Sarah Guise decided to breathe new life into Elmore and turn it into something that makes the best of their skills and passions whilst keeping the magical history of the place alive, and believe me they have done it with style - eco chic style! I hand over to the people of Elmore for a detailed overview of what’s on offer at this most contemporary, cuttng edge and sustainable wedding venue ...

"Å“Unlike many grand houses built in olden times, Elmore Court was not built for military, religious or ostentatious purposes. It was built as a huge functional homestead for family use and the entertaining of guests. Everybody who has come to stay in the house has felt the unique warmth and energy of the building. Many have commented on there being a certain magic about the place when it is being used for bringing people together; although, this allure can be partially attributed to the kind and welcoming natures of Anselm & Sarah.

There are four stunning ceremony/reception areas in the main house, the primary being the Hall - the heart of the house, and an ideal location for a ceremony for up to 150 seated (or 200 standing) guests. The Drawing Room, The Morning Room and The Porch (the front steps of the house useable for an outdoor ceremony) make up the other three licensed ceremony areas. Exclusive use of all these spaces is included in the hire price.

Christian Marriages and Blessings are also available at the exquisite 13th Century Elmore Church about a mile from the Court.
